Supplies

  • Cello (see "Information: Rentals..." for more information about rental resources)
  • Twinkle Bow for young beginners; regular bow for older students
  • Poster board or old yoga mat, for foot chart for young beginners
    • Please bring this foot chart to every lesson and use it at home.
  • Endpin strap
  • Adjustrite Junior Chair for children
    • Please bring this to lessons until told it is not necessary.  This establishes consistent posture between lessons and home practice.
  • Adjustrite Chair for adults (or an alternate good practice chair)
  • Korg TM 50 Metronome/Tuner
    • I really like this model and have used it for years.  There are many apps to use for both tuning and metronomes, but I've found this is more reliable, and keeps phones away from practice time as much as possible.   It also allows you to use both functions at the same time.
  • Dampit to keep the cello humid enough, especially during dry weather.
  • Rosin
    • Rosin regularly; one or two swipes every practice
  • Notebook and pencil
  • Phone for taking pictures and recordings (should not be used otherwise in the lesson)
  • Books and materials assigned at lessons (Suzuki cello Book 1 and CD; I Can Read Music; Note-reading flashcards...)
